I want to start off my thanking all of you who are following my blog! I have received a ton of love and support via email, Twitter as well as Facebook. It feels good to be able to tell my story and have people reach out the way so many of you have. I appreciate each and every one of you!
I have received numerous requests asking me to get more into detail at what happened in those hospitals and the nursing home as I did not get into detail on my xanax anyone? entry due to its length. I will now get more into it.
The first hospital ignored my DNR and brought me out of a coma after being on life support for nearly a week. I woke up and was in so much pain. It felt like I got hit by a bus. They gave me Dilaudid. It was the only merciful thing they did. I was often spoken about in an insulting way like I was not even there. I have a permanently dislocated elbow that they did not want to fix way before when I had no insurance. They sure did not care as I was tossed around like a rag doll when they changed the linens. There was a dr who ordered a long MRI test where I got badly burned which was horrifying . This jerk threatened to unplug me if I would not all him to scrape my burnt legs for stem cell research. I was denied water which was so bad that I was dying of thirst. I was talked to like a child all the time. One of the nurses said
This piece of trash is out of here today
This is when I had to be transported to the next hospital. I will never forget that to this day. I was very upset as I did nothing wrong to warrant this treatment yet they seem to take great pleasure in hurting me while I was helpless.I felt like this picture below most of the time~
The next hospital was just as bad if you can believe that one. The head nurse hurt me rectally upon intake which cause me to bleed out so much blood that I had to be transported back to the first one for a blood transfusion. I was screamed at for bleeding on the bed like I did it on purpose when I was sent back there. This place treated me terribly. They harassed my visitors always thinking they were drunk. They raided my room Easter Sunday because we were all laughing watching a movie on the tv and they thought we were all drinking which was a lie.. I was dropped when the PT was teaching me how to walk again. I was called fat and lazy because I could not walk. The PT cut a huge chunk of my hair causing me to have a bald spot as she said my hair was nappy. They also denied me water and fed me salty food to boot as I had a feeding tube that they never ever cleaned. They were outrageous. The staff was in all reality just as bad as the one in the first hospital…I painted this painting below as I remembered what they did
Last but oh not least is the nursing home. This place was the scariest as the racist staff was highly abusive. I witnessed many cruel acts upon the elderly along with myself. The one attendant went out of his way to rip through my hair with a fine toothed comb while verbally abusing me. People were screaming day and night. The best way to describe it was the movie The Snakepit It was very dirty there and the food was a nightmare. I was threatened several times as well as tossed around nonstop. The man who owned this hellhole was Jewish. He was in my room talking to me and I mentioned I was German and he blurted out~
Oh you are German you hate Jews
The hatred he held was incredible. This was a big insult.
I was badly abused one night by an attendant and that was when I said enough was enough so my friends rescued me . It took 3 hours while they played games. I had to finally threaten to call 911 which made them terrified and they let me go….
I know that my incident with these places is not an isolated one. This is what happens to many people who are labeled mentally ill. Once you are labeled doctors and nurses can do anything they want to you as they collect your insurance money. Trust me they laugh all the way to the bank at your expense. I was not rude or mean to anyone in these facilities nor were my visitors. We were all treated very poorly. This is what American healthcare has become. It is a shame that I have not met one doctor who has taken the hippocratic oath seriously here in Illinois. No matter how polite you are they bring you down.
Their house of cards will come tumbling down soon as they are in for a huge surprise anyway….
Thanks for reading everyone!!!
